Founded in Yorkshire over 50 years ago, Rohan has earned its place as one of the UK’s most trusted creators of technical outdoor and travel clothing—a brand that has stood the test of time.
In 2001, we identified a growing demographic of older consumers traveling more frequently, both domestically and abroad. We saw an opportunity to expand Rohan from a niche offering into a mainstream brand and led the MBO of the business.
Our partnership with the Rohan team focused on their unusually loyal customer base —a foundation of the brand’s success. Using customer insight research, we worked with the ream to ensure that new product development aligned with what mattered most to Rohan’s audience. This customer-first approach clarified Rohan’s brand positioning as the go-to authority in travel clothing.
Through the investment, we supported the development of Rohan’s direct to consumer business, developing a strong mail order and online presence in the marketplace. To broaden its appeal, we helped introduce new technical performance ranges, from shoes to business travel apparel, ensuring Rohan could meet the needs of an expanding customer community.
Having built the brand into a leading travel clothing specialist, Piper sold its stake to the incumbent Chair, Colin Fisher. Since then, the brand has grown even further, solidifying its reputation as a trusted companion for adventurers everywhere.
