Piper has completed the MBO of Bottlegreen Drinks Company, the manufacturer and distributor of premium branded adult soft drinks, making a £5 million investment.
Piper has completed the MBO of Bottlegreen Drinks Company, the UK’s leading brand of elderflower cordials and pressés.
Established in 1989 by founders Kit and Shireen Morris, Bottlegreen has a turnover of £8.2m and is a well-established player in the fast growing adult soft drinks market, manufacturing a range of natural, healthy drinks under its own Bottlegreen brands. Simon Speers will continue in his role as Managing Director with Steven Davies (formerly MD of Britvic plc) joining as Chairman.
Piper’s £5m investment will enable Bottlegreen to expand its range of cordials and pressés, and to broaden distribution through the retail and on premise markets.
Commenting on the deal, Simon Speers stated, “We were attracted to Piper as our backers because of their extensive knowledge and experience of helping consumer branded businesses grow successfully. Even during the due diligence process it became clear that working in partnership with the Piper team will add significant value to the team and the business here.”
George Adams of Piper said, “Bottlegreen operates in a growing market with a brand that reflects changing consumer taste for more natural, healthy adult soft drinks. It is a brand that is well-regarded as authentic with good provenance. The business is growing by 20% year on year and has excellent growth prospects.”
